Gililan is super motivated when it comes to fighting. "I'm always looking for a fight. I'm constantly hitting up Mick [Maynard, UFC matchmaker] just ready to go, staying ready constantly," she told Cageside Press.
Gillian enjoys hiking, regularly getting her sweat on in the mountains. "Trail blazer," she captioned one of her posts at Zion National Park. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service.
"I'd say 135 is heavy for me. If I'm in shape, training every day, I can be eating whatever I want, and I'll be walking like 130 to 133," she told Cageside Press. "I'm just small for the weight class in general." She has no desire to go back to 115 pounds, which she weighed in her youth. "I don't think five or ten pounds is going to make a girl better than me. I think that if she's better than me, she's going to be better than me. So technically, I just try to prepare myself and try to game plan the best I can."
"I feel like my mental battle is my biggest battle," Gillian told Cageside Press. "It goes with commentating even more, because I feel like, I am so socially awkward, I am so shy. So being in front of the mic, it definitely isn't easy, but it's easier when you're talking about something you love so much."
Gillian loves to surf. "Board meeting 🏄♀️ ….get it ?" she captioned a post of herself with her board. Surfing is a great workout, especially for the abs. Balancing on a board forces you to engage your stomach muscles.
