Henry Cavill shaved his beard & went to Ireland for a boozy, smoky vacation

I feel like it’s been forever and a day since I’ve devoted a whole post to Henry Cavill. Let’s do this! These are photos of Cavill over the weekend at the Groove Festival in Ireland. For some reason. Like, did Henry fly to Ireland just for the Groove Festival? Does he have a lot of Irish friends? Does he like to sit in a Irish field and drink foamy pints? Sure. Why not? Henry even shaved his beard since we last saw him. He looks nice – he’s a handsome man, beard or no beard.

I suspect that Henry probably is on vacation right now, trying to relax before his publicity tour for The Man From U.N.C.L.E. UNCLE comes out August 14th, which doesn’t really bode well. There are two dumping grounds for films which the studio believes will underperform: they are dumped in the January-February haze when most people are focused on the Oscars, or they are dumped in August, when most people are on vacation, getting drunk on a beach. What I’m saying is that no one believes UNCLE is going to do very well at the box office. If they really believed in this film, they would have given it a June or July release date. It also sucks for both Cavill and Armie Hammer – this film was supposed to be a “comeback” of sorts – this is the first release from Cavill since Man of Steel in 2013, and the first major starring role for Hammer since his turn in the disastrous Lone Ranger.

Sigh… what else is going on with Cavill? Batman v. Superman won’t be out until next year. I don’t think he’s dating anyone significant right now either. That might help him promote UNCLE – get a celebrity girlfriend for a few months!
